Cross Culture. How do we step or cross over into another culture, another way of viewing the world, of making sense of life? Is there a possibility that in the Christian family we somehow share the same "cross" culture? A culture of centering life in the symbol of the cross of Jesus Christ, centering our life in meanings which come through the deep sharing of one another's sufferings? Is there, in that sense, a culture we share? This experience may be a sharing so deep that it is beyond specific cultures, and at the same time so penetrating that it can be embodied fully by diverse cultural representations. Global mission can and is preached in pulpits from Kentucky to Kenya in ways which help us look at the ever-new, yet eternal, Word of God.
